Assignment #4

1.) Write about another connection that you have made with this novel.  Remember, you need to first indicate what kind of connection it is (T-T, T-S, and T-W).  You must write about a different type of connection than the one you wrote about previously.  Then, you must clearly explain what part of the novel you are connecting with and what it reminds you of.  Your connection should be a minimum of 5 sentences.  Be sure to explain who, what, where, why, when, and how.  Provide as many details as possible.  When you have explained your connection using everything listed above, then you have completed this assignment.  If you haven't, then you need to add to your post.  

2.) Preview your post before you actually post your work.  Remember, if the word is underlined in red, right click on it and it will give you suggestions for the correct spelling.

3.) Respond to one other response like you did yesterday.

ASSIGNMENT #3 - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

1.) Write about one 'CONFLICT' that one of the main characters is having in the novel you are reading.  Be sure to include what type of conflict it is.  You must clearly state the type and details of the conflict.  If you have forgotten, you may go to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_(narrative).  Please note, that this wikipedia page is not 100% correct.  The different types of conflicts should not say 'MAN VS', it should read 'PERSON VS'.  You must choose one of the conflict types that are listed on the wikipedia page.

2.) Go back to Assignment #1,2, and #3.  Read all of the responses by your classmates.  Then, you must comment on one of the students' blog posts by offering your opinion.  This may be in the form of a suggestion on how they may improve their posts, or in the form of agreement to their post.  You can Tell them that you agree with what they said, however you must also include your reasons why you agree.

Assignment #2

Thank you for posting your predictions for the your new novel.  Your next assignment over the holiday weekend is to write a brief description of one of the main characters from your novel.  

1.) Include details of the character's physical appearance and character traits that you were able to learn from reading the novel.  If your novel does not give a description or you cannot infer the description of the character from what you read, write about what you think the character looks like.  

2.) Include 1 connection that you are able to make with this character.  The connection should be at least 3 quality sentences.  (text-text, text-self, or text-world)

Assignment #1

ASSIGNMENT #1.)
Your first assignment is to write a prediction by replying to this post.  You must write a short paragraph between 5-8 sentences.  You must use proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.  I will be looking to see that you are using vocabulary that you have learned this year, as well as proper sentence/paragraph structure.  Always keep in mind that you must be socially responsible.  Don't forget that everything you write here will be moderated and reviewed by your entire class.
